Gold-banded Forester (Euphaedra Neophron)
The Gold Banded Forester (Euphaedra neophron) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family and found in eastern and southern Africa.
The larvae feed on Deinbollia oblongifolia or known as the Dune Soap-berry is a shrub or small tree in the family Sapindaceae.This small tree is found in coastal vegetation from the Eastern Cape of South Africa to southern Mozambique and Swaziland.
The wingspan is 55-65 mm for males and 60-78 mm for females. Adults are on wing year round, with a peak from February to July.
